Miranda Brar is an associate lawyer at Schofield Macchia. She is a fierce advocate, dedicated to her clients. Ms. Brar regularly appears at all levels of court and has successfully defended multiple clients on a wide range of criminal and regulatory offences.

Ms. Brar graduated from the University of Toronto, suma cum laude, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Political Science, and Psychology. She also obtained a Juris Doctor law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she received multiple merit-based awards and scholarships. At Osgoode Hall Law School, Ms. Brar was actively involved in social justice advocacy for inmate rights and Indigenous peoples’ rights. As a law student Case Worker, Division Leader and Senior Division Leader at the CLASP legal aid clinic, Ms Brar successfully defended many clients facing criminal charges.

Upon being called to the bar in Ontario, Ms. Brar began practising law at a large, full-service, regional law firm in downtown Toronto. Her work centred on commercial litigation, appeals, administrative law and defending professionals charged with regulatory offences.

As a criminal defence lawyer at Schofield Macchia, Ms. Brar passionately defends clients facing serious and complex criminal matters. Ms. Brar also speaks multiple languages, including English, Urdu and Hindi.
