Rubaina Singh is an associate at Schofield Macchia and Associates. Ms. Singh is a fearless and committed criminal defence lawyer who strongly believes in the use of law as a tool to fight for social justice. She has represented many clients in criminal and quasi-criminal matters for serious drug and firearm related offences.

Ms. Singh earned a Bachelors of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from St. Thomas University, in New Brunswick, as well as a Certificate of Honours in interdisciplinary studies. While there, she received an award for highest standing in Criminology and Criminal Justice, as well as the International Student Leadership Award. She subsequently obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor in 2019 and received the Honourable Walter S. Tarnopolsky Award for commitment to equality and human rights. Rubaina also worked as a caseworker/litigator at the Community Legal Aid Clinic in Windsor.

Ms. Singh was the criminal law judicial intern for the Honourable Justice L. Dean and the Honourable Justice G. Campbell of the Ontario Court of Justice. She also built community at the law school by acting as a Representative for the Criminal Law Association of Windsor, and working with the South Asian Law Students’ Association, Muslim Law Association of Windsor, and Women and the Law.

Ms. Singh also provides a range of legal services within the immigration, refugee and citizenship fields.

She is fluent in both Hindi and Punjabi.
