Theoni graduated from the University of Toronto, suma cum laude, with an Honours degree in Criminology. She went on to complete her Juris Doctor law degree at the University of Ottawa.

In Ms. Kapetaneas' second and third years of law school at the University of Ottawa, she worked as a teaching assistant for the first-year criminal law class. She taught junior law students criminal law and criminal procedure.

In the course of completing her law school studies, Ms. Kapetaneas worked for a prominent criminal defence lawyer and worked with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. She contributed to meaningful work on bail reform and privacy issues in criminal law.

After completing her law degree, Ms. Kapetaneas articled with Schofield Macchia and began working as an Associate Lawyer with the firm. Ms. Kapetaneas has gained direct and in-depth experience working on her own files and alongside Ms. Schofield and Ms. Macchia on bail hearings, sentencing hearings, pre-trial motions, and trials.

Ms. Kapetaneas has been immersed in criminal law since she began her legal career. She is a powerful and diligent advocate who regularly appears in all levels of court. Ms. Kapetaneas' practice centres on complex and challenging criminal litigation matters.
